Bernadette is committed to providing therapy that is supportive, goal-directed and effective.
Bernadette is a registered Clinical Psychologist (Registration No.0069732), a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS, Membership No. 034478) and a member of the Clinical College of the APS. She was first registered as a Psychologist in 2002 and has completed postgraduate training in a range of scientifically supported therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). She has experience in various hospital and community settings, including specialist services for eating disorders.
Bernadette offers treatment for a range of adult issues including the following:
Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Health Anxiety Depression, Post Natal Depression, low mood Eating Disorders including Bulimia Nervosa, Anorexia and Binge eating Adult survivors of childhood abuse, trauma and neglect Adult children of parents with mental health difficulties Adjustment to major life events or transitions e.g. parenthood, divorce, retirement Life goals and direction Relationship difficulties Parenting issues Pain Management Supporters of people with mental health difficulties Substance use issues and addiction
In addition to these areas, Bernadette combines skills in cognitive behavioural therapy and specialist experience in eating issues to assist people with concerns about food and weight. She also provides training to General Practitioners on working effectively with patients on their weight-related goals.
Bernadette is a consultant psychologist at a number of bariatric surgery clinics in Sydney and also provides supervision for therapists and consultation to other professionals.
